In 2007 BE Group and Faber Maunsell (now Aecom) addressed the feasibility of the South Macclesfield Employment Area – some 150 acres of undeveloped land – for the then Cheshire and Macclesfield Councils. In 2012 BE Group and Aecom were selected by Cheshire East Council to produce a masterplan, viability appraisal and delivery strategy for the now titled South Macclesfield Development Area. The team is also preparing appropriate outline planning applications to incorporate some 900 dwellings, a foodstore, relocated playing fields and employment provision.
